Open-E DSS V6 with enhanced Language Support

With the current release of its Data Storage Software, Open-E provides customers with German and Russian Language Support

Stoneham, MA, June 1, 2011: Until now Open-E's Data Storage Software was only available in English. Now Russian and German speaking users of Open-E DSS V6 can look forward to working with their favorite Storage Software in their native language. The software has been updated with both language packs which are available with the latest release.

"This update for Open-E DSS V6 will definitely make German and Russian user's lives easier", states Krzysztof Franek, President and CEO of Open-E. "Currently we are also preparing the release of our website in German language which will be available in the coming weeks. The Russian version is already online."

Additionally this release makes Open-E's Storage Software more user-friendly. If the trial or activation period has expired, the speed on Ethernet and Fibre Channel ports will be reduced, but services will continue to work. The administrator will be notified about this expiration by the software in order to enter the purchased product key and reactivate the full speed.

Furthermore there is an improvement in terms of hardware compatibility: Open-E DSS V6 now supports the Adaptec Series 6 RAID Controllers, a new generation of RAID controllers which delivers excellent bandwidth, reliability and energy efficiency. Users will be able to reach a far higher storage throughput with Open-E DSS V6 in addition to a significant reduction in operating costs.
